Troubleshooting Guide for OBD Port GPS Unit

  1. 1. Link your device to your Locate2u account: Ensure your GPS unit is properly linked to your Locate2u account. To learn how to do this, watch this video tutorial.
  2. 2. Check for a SIM Card: Verify that your unit has a SIM card installed. If not, insert one and ensure it is properly activated.
  3. 3. Drive for initial connection: Drive your vehicle for at least 30 minutes to allow the GPS unit to establish an initial connection with the network.
  4. 4. Test without the extension cable: If you’re using an extension cable, try connecting the GPS unit directly to the OBD port without the cable to see if the problem persists.
  5. 5. Check device lights: Inspect the lights on your GPS unit. These lights typically indicate power, GPS signal, and cellular network connectivity. Refer to here to understand the meaning of different light patterns.
  6. 6. Try another vehicle: Test the GPS unit on another vehicle to rule out any issues related to your vehicle’s OBD port or electrical system.
